Feeling Gorgeous
in July
Hope
you are all having a great summer not that the weather is
anything like summer at the moment with all that rain!
Certainly
its a time to try and think positive. With all the terrible
news of stabbings in the UK and the housing crash people are
being thrown into a great deal of turmoil. Its
important to try and keep a positive mind set as negative
thoughts can have a dreadful habit of multiplying and making
things worse. I believe that what we think we create
and the power of intention is very important.
Try reading some self-help books from authors such as Tony
Robbins or Dr. Wayne W. Dyer (two of Debbie's favourties)
who are brillant for inspiring positive thinking. Also
give yourself some time in your busy life to do some good
things for yourself. Let me know if you have any other
interesting books that inspire you and I will mention them
on the site.
Cycle
Cuba - November 2008 - my diary
Well still training. This month it is important fo rme
to build up my endurance nd strength so have started swimming
and other aerobic exercise. Also continuing with my
fundraising asking friends and family to sponsor me and I
am so grateful for all the support - it makes a big difference.
I am really looking forward to it. I went to America
a few weeks ago to watch one of the family compete in the
Ironman competition - a triathalon comprising a 2.4m swim
in a lake, 112 miles bike followed by a 26.2 mile run - all
in one day. Makes my challenge look easy doesn't it!
I have immense respect for all those competing including several
blind people who had partners with them, riding tandem - just
goes to show what can be achieved with a positive atittude.
Anyway it was immensely inspiring and I am pleased
to say that Jeff finished and we are all very proud of him.
About
the challenge
For
those of you who don't know I'm riding 250 miles around Cuba
in November to raise money for Professor Robert Winston's
charity Women for Women www.women-for-women.org
I'm aiming to raise £3,000 to participate and the funds raised
will help prevent, diagnose and treat a range of devastating
conditions which cause cancer, miscarriage, infertily and
genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis and muscular dystrophy.
The aim of the charity is to improve women's on-going
good health throughout their lives and to ensure that more
women have a normal pregnancy with a healthy baby. See
my page on www.justgiving.com/annettegardner
if you'd like to sponsor me - its for a really good cause.
See you
next month
